LOGAN COUNTY

THERE ARE STILL 14 OF THE REMAINING OLD ONE ROOM SCHOOLHOUSES IN LOGAN COUNTY AND THEY ARE SHOWN ON THIS SITE. THE ERA OF THE ONE ROOM SCHOOLHOUSES WAS MOSTLY FROM THE 1870s THRU TO THE 1920-30s, AND AT ONE TIME THERE WERE PROBABLY ALMOST 200 OF THESE SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY.

Over the past 15 years I have researched, to my personal limit, in numerous various sources, such as libraries, courthouses, historical societies, and such, to locate as many as possible, of the remaining old one room schoolhouses left in Logan County, Ohio. I have also driven hundreds of miles around almost ever road in the county to search for visible remains. This has taken hundred of man hours to obtain this information, and I have definitely tried to assure all information is accurate as possible. I am always open to viewers who can add information to this photoblog. This is a critical historic venue which can help educators and historical societies to preserve the one room schoolhouse era in not only our county, but in our state as well. Feel free to contact me with any information at wynpatriot953@aol.com. All photos were photographed by myself and are documented in my computer archive folders.

TO MAKE SURE IT TRULY WAS A ONE ROOM SCHOOLHOUSE AT ONE TIME IN THE PAST, BEFORE ANY OF THE SCHOOLS WERE PLACED ON THIS SITE, I VERIFIED THE ACCURACY OF THE LOCATION THROUGH A DUPLICATE VERIFICATION PROCESS. ALSO, EVERY HOUSE THAT IS POSTED ON THIS SITE IS COMPRISED OF THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE ORIGINAL SCHOOL,WHICH IS ALSO PERSONALLY VERIFIED. ALTHOUGH SOME HAVE HAD SIDING ADDED, OR OTHER MODIFICATIONS, THEY HAVE KEPT THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURE UNDERNEATH OF IT. EVERYTHING THAT IS POSTED IS TRULY WHAT CONSISTS OF ALMOST ALL OF THE ORIGINAL SCHOOL HOUSE.

I seek to add more information and photographs to this blog, so, please anyone that either knows of more information or has photographs that I can copy, I would sincerely appreciate any additional input.
